§ 1 Information on the collection of personal data

Below, we inform you about the collection of personal data when using our website. Personal data is any data that can be related to you personally, e.g., name, address, email addresses, user behavior.

The controller pursuant to Art. 4 para. 7 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is TÖRNER CNC – Maschinen, Kettelerstr. 5, 65193 Wiesbaden, Germany, represented by the managing director, Mr. Magnus Törner, at the same address (hereinafter referred to as “Provider”) on this website (hereinafter referred to as “Offer”).

When you contact us by email or via a contact form, the data you provide (your email address, and optionally your name and telephone number) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. We will delete the data collected in this context once storage is no longer necessary, or restrict its processing if there are legal obligations to retain it.

If we use commissioned service providers for individual functions of our offer or wish to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail about the respective processes below.

We also specify the defined criteria for storage duration.

Section 3 Collection of personal data when visiting our website

When you use our website for purely informational purposes, i.e., if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure its stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR):

In addition to the data mentioned above, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. § 3a Use of cookies

(bb) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which allows different requests from your browser to be associated with the same session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

(cc) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a predetermined period, which can vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings.

1. dd) You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that you may not be able to use all the functions of this website.
2. ee) We use cookies to identify you on subsequent visits if you have an account with us. Otherwise, you would have to log in again each time you visit.
3. ff) The Flash cookies used are not recorded by your browser, but by your Flash plug-in. We also use HTML5 storage objects, which are stored on your device. These objects store the necessary data independently of your browser and do not have an automatic expiration date. If you do not want Flash cookies to be processed, you must install a corresponding add-on, such as “Better Privacy” for Mozilla Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/betterprivacy) or the Adobe Flash Killer Cookie for Google Chrome. § 4 Server log files (access data)

The provider (or its service provider) collects data about every access to its website. This access data includes, in particular, the name of the accessed website, the accessed file, the date and time of the data retrieval, the amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, browser type and version, the user’s operating system, the referrer URL (the previously visited website), the IP address, and the identity of the requesting provider.

The provider uses the log data exclusively for statistical analysis for the purposes of operation, security, and optimization of its services. However, the provider expressly reserves the right to subsequently review and analyze the log data if there is a well-founded suspicion of unlawful use based on concrete evidence.

§ 6 Newsletter

The provider informs registered users of the service at regular intervals via a newsletter. If a user wishes to receive this newsletter, the provider requires a valid email address and further information that allows them to verify the identity of the owner of the provided email address and that the owner expressly consents to receiving the newsletter. During registration, the user agrees to receive the newsletter. The data entered for this purpose is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and will not be shared with third parties. No further data is collected in connection with the newsletter distribution.

By subscribing to the newsletter, the provider stores the user’s IP address as well as the date and, if applicable, the time of registration. This storage is solely for the purpose of preventing misuse of an email address by third parties and newsletter subscriptions without the knowledge of the address owner.

The user can revoke their consent to the storage of their data, email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time – regardless of any existing registration. Revocation can be done via a link at the end of the newsletter or by sending a message by fax, letter, or email to the contact details provided under the “Contact” menu item.

§ 7 Integration of third-party services and content

The provider hereby reserves the right to integrate third-party content into its website, such as videos from YouTube and other platforms, map data from Google Maps, RSS feeds, or graphics from other providers. For this to be possible, the providers of this external content must be able to access users’ IP addresses. The provider endeavors to use only content from providers who use IP addresses solely for displaying the content. However, the provider has no control over the storage of IP addresses by the third-party providers themselves.

§ 14 Right to Information

Upon request, the provider informs the user about the data stored about him/her.

§ 15 Disclosure of personal data to third parties

Your personal data will only be disclosed or otherwise transmitted to third parties if this is necessary for the purpose of contract processing – in particular, the transfer of order data to suppliers – if this is necessary for billing purposes, or if you have given your explicit consent beforehand. In these cases, however, the scope of the transmitted data is limited to the necessary minimum. You have the right to revoke any consent you have given for the transfer of your data at any time with effect for the future. Disclosure to other persons will only occur if there is a legal obligation to do so. This applies, for example, to public authorities. Furthermore, we will under no circumstances disclose your personal data to third parties for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

§ 16 Revocation, amendments, corrections and updates

The user has the right to request, free of charge, information about the personal data stored about them. In addition, the user has the right to correct inaccurate data, block, and delete their personal data, provided that this does not conflict with any legal retention requirements.

§ 17 Objection

If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you can revoke it at any time. Such a revocation affects the lawfulness of processing your personal data after you have communicated it to us.

Data security

During your visit to our website, we use the widely used SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol in conjunction with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. This is typically 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we will use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can recognize whether a particular page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed padlock icon in the lower status bar of your browser.
