Sell CNC machines – we buy used machine tools
Want to sell a used CNC machine — a single machine, several machines or a complete production line? TÖRNER has been buying used machine tools for more than 25 years, with a focus on Mazak: valuation by our own technicians, an offer within 48 hours, and we take care of dismantling and transport.
The used CNC machines we buy
We buy used CNC machine tools from all major industrial manufacturers — with a focus on Mazak. What counts is condition, control generation and equipment, not the year of manufacture alone.

Machines we have already sold
Used machinery buyers are only as good as the customers they sell to. The figures here are counted live from our sales archive: machines that found a new owner through TÖRNER, each one publicly viewable with data and photos. The focus is on Mazak. If you want to sell an INTEGREX, QUICK TURN or VARIAXIS, you will be talking to people who know and market exactly these series.

Dismantling, packing, transport and formalities handled by TÖRNER
Which machines does TÖRNER buy?
Used CNC machine tools from all major manufacturers: CNC lathes and turning centers, turning and milling centers, 5-axis machining centers, vertical and horizontal machining centers, and machines with automation. Our focus is on Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Nakamura-Tome, Doosan and comparable industrial makes — single machines as well as complete production lines.
What do we need for an offer?
Manufacturer, model, year of manufacture, control and operating hours are enough for an initial assessment. Photos of the machine, the control and the nameplate, plus the equipment list, speed up the valuation. On request, our technicians inspect the machine on site before the offer is made.
Direct purchase or consignment sale?
Both are possible. With a direct purchase, we buy the machine ourselves and you have certainty right away. With a consignment sale, we market the machine through our buyer network in more than 40 countries and handle purchase contracts as well as export and customs documents.
What happens once you accept our offer?
We take care of professional dismantling by CNC technicians, proper packing and transport — including overseas shipping. All formalities run through us; you only need to make sure the machine is accessible.
What is my used CNC machine worth?
There are no list prices for used machine tools. The price is set by demand on the world market and by what your machine can actually do and what condition it is in. Our technicians check these eight points in every valuation — so you can see how we arrive at our offer.
1Manufacturer and series
Industrial makes from Mazak, Okuma, DMG Mori, Nakamura-Tome or Doosan are in demand internationally. Sought-after series such as INTEGREX, QUICK TURN or VARIAXIS find a buyer faster — and that feeds directly into the price.
2Control generation
The control determines ease of operation, spare parts supply and the range of potential buyers. On a Mazak, what matters is whether a MAZATROL Fusion 640, Matrix or Smooth control is installed — on other makes, the generation of the Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain or OSP control.
3Spindle and operating hours
What tells you most is spindle or machining time, not just power-on time. A machine with many power-on hours but few spindle hours is often in better shape than the first figure suggests.
4Equipment and options
A Y-axis, counter spindle, driven tools, tool pockets, high-pressure coolant, touch probe and chip conveyor widen the range of potential buyers. Automation such as a bar feeder, pallet changer or robot cell increases the value if it is sold with the machine.
5Condition and accuracy
We check the spindle (running noise, runout), guideways and ball screws, the turret or tool changer, and any signs of collisions and leaks. A test run under power says more than any photo.
6Maintenance and documentation
Maintenance records, operating and maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, a current parameter backup and acceptance reports build trust with the next buyer — and with it, room to negotiate on price.
7Demonstration under power
If the machine is still connected, it can be assessed under power. So, if possible, only disconnect it after the inspection. If it has already been dismantled, we assess it from photos, documents and a visual inspection.
8Year of manufacture and market
The year of manufacture alone does not decide. What matters more is how much demand there is for the machine type right now — in Germany and in the more than 40 countries of our buyer network.
What lowers the price: a missing parameter backup and documentation, collision or spindle damage, removed options, and hard-to-reach locations without a loading door or crane. Mention such points right in your inquiry — it saves a second round. Get a free valuation for your machine
Direct purchase, consignment, auction or your own listing?
If you want to sell used machinery, you essentially have four options. They differ in how quickly you get your money, how certain the price is and how much work stays with you.
| Direct purchase by TÖRNER | Consignment through TÖRNER | Industrial auction | List it yourself | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Fixed price — you have certainty right away | Market price, often higher — paid only when sold | Open, depends on the bidders on auction day | Negotiable, outcome open |
| Speed | Offer within 48 hours | Weeks to months, depending on demand | Auction date plus collection period | Uncertain |
| Your effort | Low — one contact person | Low — we market in more than 40 countries | Medium — viewing days, collection by the buyers | High — inquiries, viewings, negotiations |
| Dismantling and transport | We take care of it | We take care of it | Usually up to the buyers — you provide access | Organized by you or the buyer |
| Cost to you | None — valuation and offer are free | Commission as agreed | Fees depending on the auction house | Listing costs and your own time |
| Right choice if … | timing and price certainty matter | the machine is in demand and there is no rush | a large inventory has to go all at once | you have time and export experience |
At TÖRNER you get direct purchase and consignment sale from a single source. After the valuation, we tell you which route brings more for your machine. Offer your machine

Selling used machinery due to closure, insolvency or modernization
Business closure
We take over the entire machine fleet in one go: valuation, dismantling and removal from a single source, until the floor space is empty.
Insolvency
For insolvency administrators: prompt valuation, transparent offers and a process that follows the timeline of the proceedings — discreetly on request.
Succession and retirement
No successor for the business? We buy individual machines or the entire inventory and take the whole sales process off your hands.
Modernization
Replacing an older machine? Your old machine can be taken into account when you buy from our stock — with financing, leasing or hire purchase on request.
Restructuring
Product range changed and the machine is sitting unused? A machine loses value while it stands idle. A prompt sale brings back liquidity and floor space.
Relocation
Moving or opening a new plant? We value the machine in advance and make an offer before you spend money on dismantling and transporting a machine that will not be needed at the new site.
Frequently asked questions about selling your CNC machine
What is my used CNC machine worth?
There is no list price on the used market. The value depends on manufacturer, series, control generation, spindle hours, equipment, condition and current demand. Our technicians value your machine free of charge, and you receive a transparent offer within 48 hours.
How quickly will I get an offer?
Within 48 hours of receiving the machine data. The more complete the details (photos, equipment list, control), the faster and more accurate the offer.
What does the valuation cost?
Nothing. Valuation and offer are free of charge and without obligation — even if you decide against selling in the end.
Does TÖRNER handle dismantling and transport?
Yes. Professional dismantling by CNC technicians, proper packing and transport — including overseas shipping — are part of the process, as are all formalities.
How does collection work?
Our technicians dismantle the machine professionally, pack it in protective film or a wooden crate and load it — we arrange a crane and heavy transport if needed. You only need to make sure the machine is accessible.
Does the machine still have to be connected?
No. If it is still connected, we can check it under power — that makes the valuation more accurate. So, if possible, only disconnect the machine after the inspection.
Does TÖRNER also buy older machines?
Yes. The year of manufacture alone does not rule a machine out — our sales archive also includes machines that are more than 20 years old. What counts is condition, control and demand.
Does TÖRNER also buy in insolvency or business closure situations?
Yes. We also buy in cases of insolvency, business closure or restructuring — single machines and complete production lines, discreetly on request.
Can I trade in my machine when buying another one?
Talk to us: at TÖRNER, buying and selling happen under one roof, so your old machine can be taken into account when you buy a used machine from our stock.
Who takes care of export and customs documents?
We do. Purchase contracts as well as export and customs documents are handled by TÖRNER — as the seller, you do not need to worry about them.
What about the relocation sensor on Japanese machines?
Many Japanese machine tools, for example from Mazak or Okuma, have a relocation sensor for export control reasons: if the machine is moved, it locks itself and has to be unlocked by the manufacturer. Getting it unlocked is one of the formalities we take care of when we buy your machine.
Which documents speed up the sale?
Nameplate, control generation, operating hours, equipment list, maintenance history and a few photos of the machine and work area — the checklist above shows everything at a glance. We clarify any missing details in conversation or during the inspection.
